Marine Taxa Track Local Climate Velocities
September 13, 2013. RCI affiliate and Rutgers Professor of Ecology, Evolution and Natural Resources, Malin Pinsky co-authored, “Marine Taxa Track Local Climate Velocities,” examining the movement of marine species in response to warming waters. The results of the study demonstrate “that marine species shift at different rates and directions because they closely track the complex mosaic of local climate velocities,” or the rate and direction that climate shifts across the landscape.
