Dr. Katie Malcolm is the Manager of the Rutgers Pinelands Field Station, a research facility located in New Lisbon, NJ. An alumna from Rutgers, she completed her B.A. in Biology-Camden and Ph.D. in Ecology and Evolution. As an ecologist, she is interested in the effects of human-caused disturbances on soil and fungal processes. Her previous work has examined disturbances including post-harvest residue removal, wet deposition of mercury pollution and forest floor manipulations. She is currently investigating how fire influences leaf litter decomposition in the NJ Pinelands.
