For thousands of years, the ocean has sustained thriving communities along Washington State’s outer Olympic Coast. But today, key marine species—and the tribes that depend on them for food, cultural practices and their livelihoods—are at risk from ocean acidification. These place- based indigenous communities are at the center of an innovative NOAA-funded collaboration that seeks to understand and plan for the impacts of ocean change to human well-being. Washington Sea Grant collaborator Meg Chadsey, co-producer of the project video, will bring OA science and human stories to life in this webinar. Participants will come away with a better sense of this region's unique social-ecological connections, as well as resources—including the video—they can share with their own audiences.
