As the United States embarks on a path towards net-zero carbon emissions, it is critical to ensure that new decarbonization policies promote a fair and equitable transition. Accelerating Decarbonization of the U.S. Energy System, a new report from the National Academies, outlines critical near-term policies needed for the decarbonization effort with a focus on ways to support communities that will be most impacted.

As part of input gathering for the study's next report, committee members will meet with experts on climate justice and equity to discuss the recommendations from the first report and how future
work can best support a just transition. We invite you to tune in for one or both of these discussions on Wednesday, July 14 from 3-4:30pm ET and Thursday, July 15 from 1-2:30pm ET.
