Thursday, January 28, 2021. 7:00 PM Eastern. Webinar: New Jersey Storms & Public Health. Judith Klotz, Rutgers University and Drexel University; Lauren O’Brien, Pay Up Climate Polluters. Sponsored by Pay Up Climate Polluters and Members of the Union Of Concerned Scientists. More information here.

New Jersey experiences more severe climate change impacts than most of the world due to high temperatures. A dominant impact is increased stormwater, which especially threatens our urban, riverine, and coastal communities. Severe storm activity results in high repair, resilience
and mitigation costs. Lauren O’Brien will address why so many communities across the country are holding the fossil fuel industry legally accountable for their fair share of those costs. Dr. Judy Klotz will elaborate on how increased stormwater exposes human beings to significant health risks such as waterborne disease, mold and bacteria, and sewer pollution.
