Thursday, 22 October 2020, 2:00
Thursday, October 22, 2020. 2:00 PM. Webinar: Controlling erosion and restoring wet meadow habitat: planning, what worked, and lessons learned. Paul Jones, Wet Meadow Restoration Resiliency Building (WMRRB) Project. Sponsored by NOAA and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. More information here.
Groups have been working with Bill Zeedyk since 2012 in western Colorado to improve habitat for Gunnison sage-grouse and other species that rely on wet meadow sites. This work is designed to make habitat more resilient to climate change.
We will discuss:
- Planning and permitting;
- Implementing the work and monitoring;
- Comparing work done over four different areas with varying precipitation, elevation, and
habitat; - How the work has influenced plants, insects and hydrology, and
- Building restoration capacity.
