Monday, 18 May 2020, 2:00
Monday, May 18, 2020. 2:00PM. Webinar: Economics of Soil Health. Michelle Perez, American Farmland Trust; Florence Swartz, NRCS New York State. Sponsored by USDA Northeast Climate Hub and USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service. More information here.
Learn how soil health practices can improve farm income, reduce nutrient runoff, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions on individual farms. We will discuss how we developed soil health economic case studies highlighting practice adoption by eight farmers in different parts of the U.S. This includes two almond producers, four corn-soybean farmers, and two diversified cropping system farmers. We will discuss how these two-page case studies offer useful outreach and educational content on the costs and benefits of successful soil health practice adoption.
