In recognition of World Food Day and United Nations Day, Rutgers Global and its university partners will host an interactive program to raise awareness about issues of food justice, food policies, and local food insecurity. The program will open with an info fair and a keynote lecture by Professor Alyshia Gálvez (The New School), author of Eating NAFTA: Trade, Food Policies, and the Destruction of Mexico (University of California Press, 2018). Student members of The Dream Project, Dorothy Lee and Gabrielle Rossi, will share their experiences of biking across the country this past summer to raise money for Elijah’s Promise. The event will conclude with breakout sessions for students to share resources and to develop action plans to address food insecurity on campus and in New Brunswick.
