Wednesday, September 18, 2019. 12:00PM. Webinar: Building an Indigenous Climate Resilience Network. Chris Caldwell, College of Menominee Nation. Sponsored by Northeast Climate Adaptation Science Center. More information here

This presentation will focus on the development of the Northeast Indigenous Climate Resilience Network (NICRN) as an intertribal collaborative group focused on building capacity and relationships in the DI defined northeast region. The idea for the network originally developed in response to the College of Menominee Nation (CMN) being brought on as a consortium member institution with the Northeast Climate Adaptation Science Center (NECASC) in 2012. Since then the network has been the focal point for creating cross-cutting relationships between Tribes and climate scientists through an advisory council, website, and more recently collaborative project proposals being submitted on behalf of the network. The NICRN is an ongoing project that will continue to focus on and guide opportunities for Tribes particularly in the northeast, but will continue to connect across the CASC network with other Tribal led or focused projects. The goal is to promote increased Tribal participation at higher levels of planning across the CASC network and within other federal agency an academic institutional projects focused on climate resilience work.
