Sustainable Fuels Forum
Friday, 28 September 2018, 10:00
Friday, September 28, 2018. 10:00AM. Sustainable Fuels Forum. Sponsored by The Port Authority. More information here.
In the past few years, transportation sector decarbonization has been heavily oriented towards electrification. However, for aviation, shipping and the heavy-duty vehicle sector, electrification poses a challenge.
Renewable fuels play an important role in The Port Authority´s long-term sustainability strategy to achieve aggressive emission reduction goals. From the pioneering partnership with KLM in 2013 to fly a series of flights from JFK to Amsterdam´s Schiphol airport using a blend of sustainable aviation biofuels, to Central Automotive Division´s forward-looking renewable diesel pilot in 2017, The Port Authority has a history of acting as a catalyst in reducing regional transportation emissions. The Port Authority is committed to keeping the region moving using our vast transportation system network while meeting goals of sustainability and greenhouse gas reduction. Biofuel is a leading alternative renewable energy capable of maintaining reliable, safe and sustainable transportation systems while reducing our collective environmental impact on the region.
We are pleased to bring together leading thinkers on the future of biofuels for a panel discussion on how this fuel can contribute to decarbonization of the transportation sector. We´ll discuss trends and challenges in the biofuel market such as availability, regulatory obstacles, and current and potential feedstock sources.
