The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has confirmed that the year 2015 was the hottest year globally in the historical record. Read more about the data and what it means in this New York Times article.

Congratulations to RCI affiliate Kevin St. Martin for receiving an award totaling $299,551 from National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration for his project titled Combining Fishermen's Knowledge with Oceanographic and Economic Models to Locate and Predict Gray Meat Outbreaks in Atlantic Sea Scallops.

Congratulations to RCI affiliate Michael Westendorf for receiving an award totaling $162,000 from the U.S Department of Agriculture for his project titled Best Management Practices Implementation Program.

The National Academies Press has released the second report of Affordability of National Flood Insurance Program Premiums which proposes alternative approaches for a national evaluation of affordability program policy options and includes lessons for the design of a national study from a proof-of-concept pilot study.
