William H. Greenberg Fellowship Announcement

We are pleased to announce that the Climate and Environmental Change Initiative (CECI) has received a generous gift in support of graduate education at Rutgers. The William H. Greenberg Fellowship has been made possible by a gift from Phyllis Greenberg in honor of her husband, a Rutgers alumnus (class of 1944). This dissertation fellowship will be awarded to a post-qualifying student in a Rutgers Ph.D. program who is conducting research on the topic of climate and environmental change. Please note that the student's research goals should be consistent with the objectives of CECI, which can be found at here. In keeping with the request of the donor, preference will be given to a student concentrating in science as opposed to policy.

The fellowship will cover the student's tuition for up to 6 credits per year, a 12-month stipend of $26,000, and Aetna health benefits. The fellowship may be renewable for a total of four years, conditional on successful performance.

Faculty advisors and graduate directors should encourage eligible Ph.D. students to apply for the fellowship. Click here to download the application form. Fellows will be selected by a committee of faculty members appointed by the CECI leadership. The first recipient will be announced in April 2008.

Applications must be received by March 15, 2008.
